Hundreds of Iraqi Arabs are being ousted from their homes in Kirkuk as Kurds retaliate for decades of repression by Hussein's government. U.S. Actions Questioned After Killing MOSUL, Iraq, April 17 -- Yasin Mohammad Salih felt a surge of hope when this northern Iraqi city was freed from the grip of Saddam Hussein's forces a week ago. But on Thursday, the 46-year-old mechanic was seething about the U.S. military. His mentally disabled brother lay dead, shot two days earlier during a riot in which U.S. troops killed at least seven people. Police Force Is an Experiment in Rebuilding After nearly a week of chaos and looting, scores of policemen have suddenly reemerged as part of an Iraqi security force being reconstituted by the U.S. forces that now control the country. With the Marines in Baghdad Beseeching the Conqueror for Aid, Protection Hundreds of Iraqis flocked to the Marine checkpoint Monday begging for jobs, government services and help. Accustomed to an authoritarian government that controlled much of everyday life, Iraqis assume the Americans will step into the void.
