New Wizards head gear proves hard to find

In November and December, I started shopping for a new Wizards hat for the season figuring six months was enough time for them to get some product into the stores. I was wrong.

MLS has something the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A don’t: competitive balance

Capitals are hearing crickets at Verizon Center

The Caps now sit second in their division, just a point ahead of the Jets, and an unimpressive seventh in the Eastern Conference. But I don’t need to tell you how the Caps are doing — you’re hearing it everywhere, and if you’re at games, you might be feeling it, too.

Chris Paul trade veto shows it’s time for David Stern to go

You have to have certain ethical and moral lines you won’t cross to please your superiors. NBA Commissioner David Stern apparently makes up his lines as he goes along, and for that, it’s time for him to go.

Losing players to injury, season-ending or week to week, is one thing, but losing two starters for at least four games because of their own selfish actions is just plain disgraceful.

Rooting for the Redskins to lose is a terrible idea

This week there has been a vocal segment of Redskins fans bemoaning the Redskins win in Seattle. But believe it or not, creative a culture of winning is more important than moving a few rungs up the draft board.

D.C. United at Chivas USA match diary and player ratings

How will United react to such a long layoff? I have no idea. It’s the old “rest versus rust” argument, which is as unsettled of an argument as “Elvis vs. The Beatles” or “Adam Sandler movie” vs. “stare at the back of an airplane seat for two hours.”

I like the uniforms Maryland wore last night. While I have some reservations about using the flag of my beloved state as such a blatant marketing tool, I think Under Armour did a pretty good job of making it, well, classy.

Kasten's grade: Incomplete

By Ryan Korby Stan Kasten’s greatest skill is what is keeping me from deciding whether his resignation as Washington Nationals President is ultimately good or bad for the team. Kasten is a master at playing things close to the vest....

Why can't I watch Caps preseason games on TV?

By Ryan Cooper So last night, instead of showing the Capitals/Blue Jackets preseason game, CSN DC is showing a Chelsea/MSK Zilina UEFA Champions League match.  One part of me says, “Ok, Chelsea’s pretty good, I can understand that.” Then I...

Caps players whose jerseys your kids should wear - Part 1
