Texas group launches scholarship exclusively for white males

The application for a $500 scholarship from the Former Majority Association for Equality looks pretty much like all the others out there. Well, except for this eligibility requirement: "Male - No less than 25% Caucasian."

WSJ: U.S. companies favor state school grads

The Wall Street Journal has released its own college rankings, based on a survey of recruiters who make new hires for 479 of the country's largest public and private companies, nonprofits and government agencies. The survey found that state universities were the favorite.

Drake brands itself as a D+

N.J. college buys a resort to house students

This week Richard Stockton College of New Jersey paid $20 million to buy the historic Seaview Resort, a four-star golf resort and spa. The resort will remain open to the public, but part of the 297-room hotel will be converted into student housing.

Happy U.S. News rankings day!

U.S. News and World Report has released its annual list ranking colleges by things some people in higher ed say shouldn't be used to rank colleges -- like number of faculty, student selectivity, spending per student, alumni giving, retention rates, graduation rates and stuff like that.
