People like me who might not be so disappointed to find a Snooki Wig under the Christmas tree. Luckily for all of us wanna-bes, the cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore" have been particularly adept at self-marketing since their show took off as one of 2010's biggest hits. For the uninitiated, it's about a bunch of fake-baked club rats who drink, smoosh and fight. Compelling, right? The picks, after the jump......

Celebritology Giftology Day 1: Celebrity memoirs

Today we kick off a series of posts -- 12 Days of Celebritology Giftology -- written to help you cross the celebrity and pop-culture obsessed pals off your holiday gift-giving lists. Think of these posts as our gift to you. We're just that generous. Memoirist Jay-Z. (Reuters) Today's mission: Find the perfect gift for the reader on your list. Below, three picks that should satisfy super-fans. Highbrow: Jay-Z's "Decoded" This collection of essays from rap's reigning champ (and Beyonce's husband) is part memoir, part homage to hip-hop. In it, the man born Shawn Corey Carter, details his humble beginnings in a Brooklyn housing project, his pre-fame job history (drug dealer) and how he managed to become one of the biggest stars on the planet. As ClickTrack detailed yesterday, Jay talks about his tete-a-tete with Barack Obama prior to the 2008 presidential election. I haven't yet gotten to the part --...

Last Minute Celeb-Inspired Gifting

If you're anything like me, you've put off your holiday shopping until the very last moment. If you're nothing like me at all, you've also got thousands of dollars just waiting to be frivolously spent on one of the over-priced celeb-related gift ideas below. You'll be the talk of the family when they find out how many ducats you've dropped to make their dreams of rubbing shoulders with celebrities (or wearing a dress that once graced a celeb's shoulders) come true. $624 - $1,699 Before you pay down that credit card debt, consider this wiser philanthropic use of your money credit: Buy the John Mayer fan in your life four days at sea aboard the Carnival Splendor with this puzzlingly popular singer-songwriter, best known for dating a series of starlets -- including, but not limited to, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson and Minka Kelly. Wittily dubbed "Mayercraft Carrier 2," the...

Have Yourself a Merry Little Hoff-mas

Personalize this photo: The Hoff as Santa. (Courtesy UniversalPoster.com) It's the most wonderful time of the year. Overeating is de rigueur, far too much time spent with relatives serves as an absolutely plausible reason for over-indulging in the egg nog and we say "I love you" to friends and family with signed photos of David Hasselhoff in swim trunks and Santa cape. The heck, you say. It's true. The Hoff has magnanimously made available nine different photos of himself for gifting. At only $15 a pop, you can knock six gift recipients out for under a hundred bucks and all in one simple Internet transaction. Not bad considering the belt-tightening caused by the continued meltdown of the world's economy. Better still -- customize each print with a four-line message of your invention "replicated in an exact digital copy of your favourite artist's handwriting and signature." The possibilities are endless....

Celebritology Holiday Guide: Four Presents of the Apocalypse

If you're like me -- and I hope you're not -- you delight in giving perverse gifts. My long-suffering family has been victimized by years of Velvet Elvis paintings, blankets depicting hawks or unicorns, Dukes of Hazzard memorabilia and other assorted straight-to-the-basement items. My Christmas miracle is that I have not yet been disowned. As the final installment in this year's Celebritology Holiday Guide, I offer four celebrity-related presents that are just plain wrong and, therefore, sure to make you the hit of any holiday celebration. (Courtesy Charisma Brands, LLC) 1. Freakish Dolls Designed by Marie Osmond Remember Marie Osmond? Half of the toothy smiling wholesome Donnie & Marie show back in the '70s? Well, turns out this Mormon teen angel prototype is now a dollmaker and, in collectible doll circles, apparently well-respected. Surprise your loved ones with a $25 gift certificate or just go right for the jugular by...

Celebritology Holiday Guide: Stars By the Book

Have someone on your holiday gift list who won't sit still for "Access Hollywood" or the "E! True Hollywood Story" but is spellbound by "Inside the Actors Studio," hanging on James Lipton's every well-chosen bon mot? I know the type: the closet celebritologist -- scoffing at your Us Weekly subscription, while surprisingly well-versed in the latest starlet scandals. So sad. This holiday season indulge their "academic" interest in celebrity with one of the following books, sure to win approval from even the most tabloid-averse entertainment buff. (Courtesy Melcher Media) The Pop-Up Book of Celebrity Meltdowns By Heather Havrilesky, Bruce Foster and Mick Coulas From the Publisher: "...puts you front and center as ten of the most spectacular public crack-ups of our day unfold before your eyes... Open the page to trigger a wardrobe malfunction and watch as Janet Jackson bares all at the Super Bowl... Pull the tab and see...

Celebritology Holiday Guide: Memorabilia Mania

Let's face it: Fruit baskets and gift cards are just so overdone. Show your friends and family you really care this holiday season by giving a gift that speaks to their obsessions. Maybe you know someone with a "collection" or have an uncle who sets his watch to Graceland time or even know a certain Celebritologist who would so kill to own a shirt Tom Cruise wore in "Vanilla Sky"* -- surprise them with something they'll always um... cherish. A world of items once owned -- or touched, or chewed -- by celebrities is yours for the buying. Unfortunately, an egg-salad sandwich half-eaten by Britney Spears was snapped up by Internet casino GoldenPalace.com earlier this year. But, fear not, there is plenty left to round out your holiday gifting. Below, a quick survey of some of the more interesting one-of-a-kinds making holiday wish lists this year. Jessica Simpson's alleged gum....
