Why would Education Secretary Arne Duncan not directly address questions put to hima bout his second-term agenda at Jeb Bush's school reform summit in Washington D.C. today?

Kudos for D.C. school meal program but hold applause for Congress

D.C. public schools officials deserve an ovation for a new program to feed dinner to about 10,000 students in an effort to help improve childhood nutrition and ensure that kids don’t go hungry. But let's hold the applause for Congress.

Obama repeals Bush-era Title IX policy

The Obama administration is throwing out a Bush-era policy under the Title IX gender equity law that critics said made it easy for schools and colleges to avoid offering equal opportunities for women in athletics. Critics say the change is unwarranted.
