Teachers unions reject arming educators in schools
The National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, with a total of some 4.5 million members, said in a joint statement that arming teachers won't make schools safer/. What will, they say, are mental health services, bullying prevention and gun safety legislation.

A critical shortage of school counselors
Public schools in the United States on average give each school counselor more than twice the recommended number of students to help. And in some states, including Arizona, the ratio is much higher.
