Poll: How science should be taught

A national survey released today shows that big percentages of science teachers and parents believe that kids should learn science with hands-on experiments but only 22 percent of teachers feel they have the resources needed to conduct them.

Naval Academy prof wins Maryland parent involvement award

A U.S. Naval Academic history professor who helped lead an effort to reform two Anne Arundel County middle schools--even though his five children are too young to be middle schoolers--won Maryland’s statewide award for parent involvement. And a Montgomery County parent is one of the finalists.
