Kanye West defends Bush, thanks models, pleads ignorance of illuminati

Hey Matt Lauer, Kanye West doesn't need your stinking "Today" show with your sneaky background clips and your annoying questions. Which is why last night in New York, Kanye was finally able to set the record straight about a number of things -- including that "Today" interview, his concerns about a potentially suicidal George W. Bush and how hard it is to be Kanye. All delivered in the easily digestible, yet UTTERLY NSFW, nine-minute video clip below: Did I say "easily digestible"? I kind of lied....

No more 'Today' for Kanye West

Okay, I totally called this one. In the wake of Kanye West's disastrous "Today" interview earlier this week -- an interview West characterized on Twitter as "BRUTAL" (his caps, not mine) -- West has pulled out of an upcoming performance on the show that had been scheduled for Nov. 26. On Friday, West again used his medium of choice to tweet this update: “I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of “the set up” I blatantly said I’m not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance….And I don’t hate Matt Lauer… We don’t promote hate. That’s the whole point!!! I promote love and truth! Earlier in the week the rapper appeared on "Today" to apologize for accusing then-President Bush of racism in 2005 because...

Why Kanye West should not have apologized to George W. Bush on the 'Today' show

Kanye West, why did you have to go on "Today" and tell George W. Bush that you're sorry (or at least somewhat regretful) for saying -- during the height of the Hurricane Katrina crisis -- that he didn't care about black people? As your Twitter account clearly indicates, taping the interview has caused you an immense amount of distress. And as demonstrated by the use of your pre-recorded comments during this morning's "Today" interview with Bush, your words only served as a balm for the former president, who said they were "appreciated" and that his faith allows him to forgive you. Racial tensions: They're all solved now that the West/Bush conflict has been put to rest. Kanye, in addition to making some killer records, you have said and done some mega-ridiculous things over the years. But the Hurricane Katrina episode? That's actually the one thing that, in my opinion, you...

Kanye West's 'Power' vs. Eminem's 'Love the Way You Lie'

Two new music videos -- yeah, you heard me, actual music videos -- made their much-publicized debuts last night on MTV. The first was Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna; the second Kanye West's "Power." Which one was the best video of all time ... or at least the better of the two? Eminem's entry features not just Rihanna, but Megan Fox and Charlie Pace (aka Dominic Monaghan) intermittently smacking each other and making out ferociously. Oh, and also people and houses going up in flames: The Kanye clip, or so-called moving painting, gives us sexualized religious imagery, an artistic sensibility and, of course, Mr. West in a position of "Power." So which one makes the most impact? Vote now. poll by twiigs.com...
