Life without parole for Md. murderer

A Prince George's County judge Wednesday sentenced a Landover man to life without parole for fatally stabbing a man and trying to kill a young woman -- the murder victim's wife -- during a 2009 house robbery. Following a hearing of about 90 minutes, Circuit Court Judge Sheila R. Tillerson-Adams imposed the sentence on Lawrence T. Covington, 36, of Landover.

Beltsville man pleads guilty in Pr. George's home robberies

In November and December, Leonard S. Riddle went on a crime spree, authorities said. With a partner, he invaded homes in College Park. The two men would beat and rob their victims, which included two older men who were disabled, authorities said.

Robber who destroyed Pr. George's store surveillance system gets 45 years

David Ward Turner apparently believed his shades and hat -- and destroying a store's surveillance system -- would shield him from the law. But they didn't protect him from eyewitnesses.
