Money for Metro advances in U.S. Senate

The funds, intended for safety improvements, were approved by the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee. The bill now moves to the Senate floor.

The week ahead in traffic and transit

Metro to survey rail riders

Metro plans to begin surveying riders for the next six weeks to gather “information for planning and operational purposes,” according to a statement.

Fairfax County suggests names for Metro Silver Line stations

Previous possibilities had included too many references to Tysons. The Fairfax board is scheduled to discuss the names Tuesday.
