House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi got into a heated exchange Thursday with a reporter from the conservative Weekly Standard, after he asked California Democrat about abortion and Philadelphia abortion provider Kermit Gosnell.
The reporter, John McCormack, noted that House Republicans are pushing a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy in response to the horrors committed by Gosnell, an abortion doctor who was recently sentenced to life in prison for the deaths of three infants who were born at his abortion clinic.

Senate leaders reached an agreement late Tuesday to hold up-or-down votes in the coming days on nine proposed changes to gun legislation under consideration.
Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) announced that the Senate will hold votes on a bipartisan proposal to expand gun background checks to cover most commercial gun sales, a proposal that still lacks sufficient support to pass.
