White House orders look at pay equity inside government

President Obama has ordered a review of whether policies on how salaries are set when federal employees are first hired and when they are promoted are contributing to a gender pay gap.

White-collar federal worker pay nearly 35 percent behind private sector, advisory group says

An advisory council has reported that pay of white-collar federal employees is nearly 35 percent behind the private sector on average, moving the controversy over pay comparisons along for higher-level consideration.
