Redskins are less than $2 million under salary cap

With all their players now counting against the salary cap, the Redskins are a modest $1.85 million beneath the cap even after reworking the contracts of Barry Cofield, Stephen Bowen and Adam Carriker to create about $3.7 million in cap space.

Cap situation remains tight for Redskins

Team currently has about $1.33 million in available cap space. Beginning Sept. 3, all players on the team's roster must count against the cap.

Bruce Allen says Redskins' salary-cap penalty won't affect season-opening roster decisions

But the GM also maintains that the two-year, $36 million cap reduction imposed by the NFL continues to plague the team.
