Newseum looks at social media in new HP New Media Gallery

The Newseum has selected an interactive exhibition on social media as the first permanent exhibition at the museum since it opened in 2008. The HP New Media Gallery opens Friday with plenty of multimedia and digital technology displays.

Chakaia Booker and her sculptures arrive on New York Avenue

Booker’s work —made out of rubber tires —was the second installation of a sculpture project, spearheaded by the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

John Wayne Gacy captured at the Crime Museum

It’s hard to believe but there is enough material about John Wayne Gacy to warrant a museum exhibition. The Crime Museum, a Washington attraction that shows the warts and heroics of the criminals and the crimefighters, is opening a show about Gacy.
