More signs, more sensors, more cameras. But not more lanes.

I-66 merge to Beltway no longer a dance with death

Starting Saturday, drivers heading east on I-66 to the northbound Beltway will no longer be dumped into the left lane of high speed traffic at one of the region’s busiest interchanges. Whew.

VDOT mangles spelling of Sycamore Street on I-66

A new third lane opened up on I-66 between Sycamore Street and Fairfax Drive, and a new sign for the Sycamore exit in Falls Church is gonna need a little work. Green-out?

The sad, terrible death of Exit 49C on the Beltway

The Beltway/I-66 interchange was bearable because there were two northbound exits. Now there’s one. Do the traffic gods hate us?

I-66 in Fairfax to be nightmare for next 18 months. AAGGH!

I-66 in Fairfax County, between the Beltway and Route 50 in Fair Oaks, is going to be down to one lane at nights for resurfacing.
