Correction to This Article
A Dec. 30 article incorrectly reported the number and date of the National Security Decision Directive that outlined measures to be taken to prevent an Iraqi collapse in the Iran-Iraq war. The document was NSDD 139 of April 5, 1984, parts of which remain classified.
