Bush Regains His Footing

As strange as it sounds, President Bush may be poised for a political comeback.

David - he looked better at the presser and did ok at AEI, but he has been going through the motions for a while now. He looked and sounded like crap in VA last week and at the P/O at DHS.

Just when things were starting to get better, THIS has to happen. Damn.

Regains his footing? His preposterous lies about Iran have been shredded by every reputable news source. The bloodbath in Iraq continues unabated, while critics from Congress to the electorate demand that he reverse his obsessively disasterous policies. Only a WaPo columnist could write something this foolish with a straight face

Bush Regains His Footing Your kidding, right?

You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Did you see the Press Conference? Were you there? The less-than-artful dodging about Iran and Libby, the aw shucks from-the-gut answers that he believes the intel, as if we hadnt heard that before and seen that line be a lie? What was on display was a shadow of a President, reliving a glory time not unlike an overwieght former high school quarterback revisiting his former team and hoping no one notices how much has changed. Maybe hes regained his footing in seducing the press. He was never anything but good at that. Of course, people like Mr. Broder were on the wrong side of public opinion since early 2005. It makes sense that hed go back there, its where pundits like Broder are most comfortable. Maybe because, like Bush, its more fun to pretend its the glory days of early 2003, when no one knew what a liar the president was, and what a gullable sap Mr. Broder is.

How much Kool Aid have you had to drink Mr.Broder?

Does Broder get paid for writing this tripe? Because if he does, then there is something seriously wrong with the universe. And just to clarify, it is not Bush who is in the middle of a bloody civil war, it is Iraq. And it got that way thanks to Bush and his enablers in the media. I have heard rumors that Broder used to have a sensible head on his shoulders. That must have been a long, long time ago.

Bush is a LAME DUCK and most of the country wishes it was January 20, 2009 already. Everyone is just sick of him. All of those cocktail weenies must be going to your head, Broderella.

Broder....are you so enamored of men in power that you actually believe the stuff you are writing? Jeez, man...to see a long career come down to fawning over this idiot of a president is just sad. But I guess its expected coming from someone who thought that Clinton getting a BJ was a high crime. How dare he! Youre just pathetic, man. Dean of the DC press corps? With this garbage youre trying to sell us? You may as well be writing for the Dartmouth Review because a you sound like a young Republican fawning over your man, no matter how horrible he is as a president and b youre writing, at least of late, has the depth and quality of a college journalism student. Face it...the guy is toast, done, worst president ever. Get out of your freaking bubble and accept the reality that most of the rest of this country accepted months, even years, ago. I mean, you sound like Peggy talking about Dutch. But at least even she realizes that Bush is just, well, horrible. Do us all a favor. Retire.

Dear Broder: How much did Karl have to pay you for this blow job of a story?

Wow, I thought Jay Carney sounded like a fool when he tried to make the *If Bill Clinton could make a comeback* argument. How ignorant must you be if youre the *second* Beltway hack to try to put this argument forward?

Thank you for helping us understand the perspective of the Pleistocene. If not for the time machine available to the Washington Post, we would have no idea how todays reality might appear to someone with a perspective on a geologic time scale. Seriously, do you really want this shameless spin associated with your name? Dont you realize that pundits have a little competition now? What audience do you imagine will swallow this?
