White House Spokesman's Colon Cancer Has Returned

White House press secretary Tony Snow has often said he "felt that cancer was stalking me." Yesterday it caught up with him again.

* Liver cancer is universally fatal, and quickly. * It is no longer fatal. A Republican friend of mine -- I am Dem -- was stricken with liver cancer three years ago. He got a liver transplant and is now just fine. Of course, liver transplants are not always possible. If my friends cancer had metastazised, the transplant would have been useless. I hope this is an option for Tony Snow. As I wrote earlier, I loathe everything he represents, but I do not wish him ill. Quite the contrary, I hope he does well.

Quite honestly I am sometimes only irritated by his swagger other than that, like all press secretaries of this dreadful administration, he is just attemting to do the impossible task of defending the undefendable policies of an undefendable administration by of course insulting our intelligence. At least he is much better than Mc Clellan That said I wish him and his family the best Recover fast Tony

Oedrex is right that Mrs. Edwards picked Amanda Marcotte and Kate Michelman, two of Satans boon companions, to walk with her into leftist darkness---where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth!

You only get one liver and when it goes you`re done. Tony Snow`s days are numbered, but then so are yours and mine. Meanwhile, how about we all just think about how we spend the time we`ve got left? More caring and less cursing. Real listening instead just waiting for your turn to talk. Be as honest as you can be with yourself and others. Admit when you truly don`t know the answer.

Every two days more Americans die from cancer than did on 9/11. We spend more in one week on the war in Iraq that on cancer research in the whole year! 9 percent of grant applications are funded for cancer research. It is the biggest menace to our security after heart disease. When are going to wake up a get our priorities in order?

You BDSers disgust me.Im not refering to the friendly opposition here. Though I lean more right than left I pray Tony AND Elizabeth Edwards will beat their respective diseases. To hope otherwise is evil.

Seeing two prominent people on both sides of the aisle fight this incredible battle with cancer can hopefully give everyone a bit more awareness to the disease, regardless of where you stand politically. This is a nonpartisan issue, and hopefully everyone can contribute to further research and the cause of fighting the disease. Please consider any donations to a cancer society of your choice.

Mollymarine, although Im unfamiliar with the term BDSers, Im sure it attempts to be derogatory in some way. I doubt anybody seriously hopes Tony Snow will lose this battle. I certainly do hope he does beat it, cancer is a terrible disease, and I wish it on no one. However, if someone who does what you consider to be very bad things falls ill, and it is likely that he will no longer be able to do those bad things if he is sick, is it really bad to hope he does not get better? If the bad things that that person does wont be done anymore? Unfortunately, that doesnt apply here because Bush will just hire someone else to explain away his evil and misguided deeds. Snow is just a tool for this evil hegemony. I personally hope he gets better, realizes this was just a byproduct of the evil he supports every day, and declines to help them any longer.

As someone who totally disagrees with the policy that he defends, I just want to say that I wish Tony and his family strength and faith to carry them through this difficult time. I wish him a full and speedy recovery so he can enjoy a long healthy life with his wife and children. These are truly the most important things in life.

You people who insist on condemning the Iraqi war because of oil - do you drive cars? Do you ride in anything oil powered? If so, keep your stupid comments to yourselves. IDIOTS!

If Tony was telling the truth then we should all have pity on him. If he was knowingly lying, deceiving and misleading all his time on FOX and for Bush well then.....

When we were both undergraduates at Davidson, 35 years ago, I was engaged in my own battle with cancer. Whether you are 17 or 52, its one of the toughest things youll ever have to deal with. I am extremely sad for Tony and everyone else experiencing recurrences and metastasis. The weight of the other shoe dropping is something I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy. He will be in my prayers.

Comments that include profanity or personal attacks or other inappropriate comments or material will be removed from the site. per WaPo OK WaPo Im waiting for you to stick to your policy. There are some severly deranged people posting on this topic. They cant get past their hate to see a person who is suffering. All they can do is spout off their agenda, and make political statements. Lets replace one of your loved ones in place of TOny, and see how you take the attacks. Sick people, is this how you want to be? Prayers going out to Tony, and I hope he doesnt read most of these posts.
