Why do the US impose tariff just paper? What about clothing? What about car parts? What about shoes? What about computer? Let the trade war begin. I am all for it.

This country needs to adopt a balanced trade policy with every country we have a trade deficit with. Congress needs to shoot down the trade deal with Korea also. All these trade deals so far have done nothing but erode our manufacturing base and create trade deficits with ALL of our trading partners.

It is about time--China is an evil Communist country, despite its grip on the crappo injection-moulded plastics industry. I hope this is only the start. I have been trying to boycott Chinese products for years. My latest frustration has been with shoes. Hopefully, some WELL-MADE American or European products will be returning to store shelves.

THIS ACTION IS TWENTY FIVE YEARS TO LATE! TARIFF ON PRODUCTS FROM ANY COUNTRY SHOULD BE SIMPLE WHAT EVER THE TARIFF OR TAX PERCENTAGE THEY HAVE ON ANY OF OUR GOODS WE SHOULD PUT THE SAME PERCENTAGE OF TARIFF OR TAXES ON THEIR PRODUCTS! NO TARIFFS OR TAXES ON ANYTHING OF OURS THEN NONE ON YOURS! THE AMOUNT OF SUBSIDIES BY GOVERNMENTS SHOULD BE MET WITH A TARIF TO KEEP A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD! GIVEN A LEVEL PLAYIN FIELD THE AMERICAN WORKER WILL WIN! MOST AMERICANS HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE HOW UNFAIR IT HAS BEEN! WE MAKE A TRADE AGREEMENT AND WE LOOSE AMERICAN JOBS AND WE ALWAYS LOSE IN ANY AGREMENTS! THE TARIF ON AMERICAN CARS GOING TO JAPAN WAS OVER 100 JAPANESE CARS COMING TO AMERICA 0! THE TARIFS MEXICO PLACES ON OUR GOODS IS ENORMOUS AND WE PLACE NOTHING ON THEIRS!!! WE NEED MEMBERS OF THE ADMINISTRATION DOING ANY NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO BE LOYAL, PATRIOTIC, INTELLIGENT, SKILLED IN NEGOTIATION WITH THE AMERICAN WORKER ALWAYS THEIR FIRST PRIORITY!!! IN THIS ADMINISTRATION OVER THE LAST SIX YEARS WE HAVE LOST OVER 2,000,000 AMERICAN JOBS OVERSEAS THAT PAID $10.00 TO $40.00 PER HOUR JOBS AND REPLACED THEM WITH A FEW $8.00 AN HOUR JOBS!!! IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!

It is really unfair to contribute the competitive advantages of certain chinese products to a result of so-called illegal subsidies by the Government. Competitiveness of China in the manufacturing sector is simply due to cheap labors! In other words, China as having cheap labor has relative advantage in manufacturing. If America really respects fair trade, she should not impose any unreasonable measures against the area where a country has relative advantage. For the trade deficit, two points need to be noted. one is both America and China have different calculation methods on the amount of trade deficit. Both countries need to achieve a compromise based on mutually respectable negotiations. Another is the root of trade deficit is driven by the Americas policy which bans on export of hi-tech products to China. Rather, America failed to adjust her policy to balance the trade deficit but puts much focus on competition with China in low profile products. If we really respect fair trade, we should not distort and make baseless accusation against one countrys relative advantage in trade. Rather, its America should improve its competitiveness and adjust her export policy, particularly in hi-tech products to China.Otherwise, when facing competition from the developing countries, not just China, what can be done is to impose tariff based on unjustifiable ground at the expense of fair trade.

the average of a Chinese worker per month, as i know, is within the range of $110 to 200. so the competitivness of Chinese maunfacturing products is as a result of government subsidy or cheap labor cost??

WANT TO CRY FOUL FIRST YOU SHOULD LOOK WITHIN. BIG BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT HAVE BEEN RAPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR SO LONG THAT NOW WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO MAKE A LITTLE MONEY HERE WITH A LESS EXPENSIVE AND IN SOME CASES A BETTER PRODUCT THEY ALL WANT TO CRY THAT IT IS ILLEGAL. I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THOSE THAT CONDEMN CHINA....HAVE YOU EVER BEEN THERE AND HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THEIR WAY OF LIFE AND WAY OF DOING THINGS OR DO YOU ONLY WANT TO BELIEVE THOSE THAT ONLY TELL YOU WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO KNOW.
