An April 11 article incorrectly reported where Gen. James Jones, the Marine Corps commandant, was born. He was born in Kansas City, Mo., and raised in Paris. The article also incorrectly said there had been no U.S. Supreme Allied Commander in Europe who was born on that continent. Army Gen. John Shalikashvili, who held the post in 1992-93, was born in Warsaw.
