Correction to This Article
A July 13 Outlook article incorrectly stated that the Supreme Court's majority opinion striking down the Texas Homosexual Conduct law was based in part on the Fourteenth Amendment's equal protection clause. It was based on the amendment's due process clause. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's concurring opinion cited the equal protection clause as her reason for joining the majority.
