Neil Diamond and New York City: Kennedy Center Honors Watch

Neil Diamond seems to like New York City. Last week Diamond was featured on a float in the macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Wednesday night he is joined the festivities for the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Diamond will be saluted this weekend in Washington as part of the Kennedy Center Honors, along with Meryl Streep, Yo-Yo Ma, Barbara Cook and Sonny Rollins.

The New York Film Critics Circle selected Meryl Streep for its Best Actress Award Tuesday. Streep was cited for her role as British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady.” Streep will be honored this weekend in Washington at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremonies, along with Sonny Rollins, Yo-Yo Ma, Barbara Cook and Neil Diamond.
