Assault charges for man after alleged Md. attack

A Silver Spring man faces assault charges and is being held for a mental evaluation after allegedly threatening a Montgomery County police officer with a broken bottle Saturday. The officer fired three shots and remains is on routine paid administrative leave after the incident, Montgomery County Police said.

Bank robber sentenced to 11 years
