By Del Quentin Wilber, A 56-year-old District man was found guilty Tuesday of supplying heroin to a drug ring that operated in a Southeast Washington housing complex., Prosecutors said that Heyward Sanders was convicted by a federal jury in the District of conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute heroin; he faces a maximum 40 years in prison at his sentencing before U.S. District Judge Thomas F. Hogan on July 14. Leslie Johnson plea hearing canceled

A Wednesday hearing at which Prince George’s County Council member Leslie Johnson was expected to enter a guilty plea in connection with a sweeping corruption probe has been canceled, federal prosecutors in Maryland said.

Man found dead in Jessup home

Howard County police say the body of a man and a 5-year-old boy were found in a vacant Jessup home. Authorities are investigating how the man died.
