Accident closes eastbound 11th Street Bridge

A single-vehicle accident forced authorities to close the 11th Street Bridge headed to I-295 and snarled Friday’s evening commute in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said. The bridge has since reopened.

Brake part falls from another Metro train

For the second time in less than a month, a part of a rail car brake assembly has fallen from a Metro train, according to transit officials. Metro said it will inspect 464 rail cars that have similar brakes, the 2000, 3000 and 4000 series rail cars.
