James Robertson’s new book is 132 great stories

Good books on the Civil War are the ones that go beyond the statistics and the battle results and tell us stories about the people involved. Well-known historian James “Bud” Robertson has done just that with 132 one-page stories.

Fort Monroe in Virginia will be designated national monument today

President Obama will sign a proclamation today designating the 565-acre historic fort in Virginia as a national monument, relieving the fears of many.
