‘Heaven is for real’ and the immature American mind

Sitting pretty at No.1 on The New York Times paperback nonfiction bestseller list is a secondhand memoir describing a four-year-old boy’s ‘visit’ to a heaven. Only in America could a book like this be classified as nonfiction.

What happens to women after the revolutions?

The idea that we are standing for “democracy” in countries where a strict interpretation of Islam deprives women of democratic rights is another in a long line of naive American assumptions about our ability to remake the world.
