St. Louis Rams would benefit most from drafting Andrew Luck

The “Suck for Luck” race seems to be whittled down to three candidates: Indianapolis, Miami and St. Louis. But why is everyone assuming the Rams will trade the top pick if they get it?

NFL teams still relying on rushing attacks despite early aerial assault

In the year of the quarterback, some NFL teams are doing it the old fashioned way, with productive run games led by elite running backs.

Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions have bigger issues to worry about than war of words with Atlanta Falcons

Is Ndamukong Suh a dirty player? It shouldn’t matter to the Detroit Lions, who presently have much bigger issues to worry about.

NFL should launch pink Super Bowl campaign

Wouldn’t it be fun for the manliest league in professional sports to implement an un-written rule for the Super Bowl? The loser of the Super Bowl has to wear an all-pink uniform in their first home game in the month of October the following season.

NFL Week 7 highlights & lowlights: DeMarco Murray, Carson Palmer, Chris Johnson, Colts, Dolphins, two-minute drills and Pizza Hut

DeMarco Murray splashed onto the scene in Week 7 while Carson Palmer made the Bengals look brilliant. Titans running back Chris Johnson continues to prove his holdout was a mistake and NFL teams appear to have stopped practicing the two-minute drill.

NFL trade deadline should be moved back

The current problem with the NFL is that the trade deadline occurs too early in the season, which effectively minimizes the chance of any substantial trades occurring. This limits teams' abilities to get better during the season either for the short or long term.

Defending the Raiders (seriously)

The chorus of Raider doubters in the media will no doubt grow in size and volume after yesterday’s debacle, but consider this: What if it works?

NFL London: Sluggish ticket sales may hurt league’s plans to move franchise to England

Two years ago when Tampa Bay played New England in London, the game sold out in eight minutes flat. Now the NFL can’t sell out the game with 72 hours left until kickoff? What gives?

Carson Palmer to Oakland Raiders trade lessens value of draft picks

After Cincinnati’s complete heist from Oakland — in which the Bengals nabbed first and second-round picks for a sub-par, but big name quarterback (Carson Palmer) — I think it’s time to re-evaluate the value of a draft pick.

Recently a person associated with the NFL uttered a sentence so flawed in reality, logic and fact, so egotistical in nature that it begs for rebuttal.

The Al Davis legacy: A “love-hate” relationship with Raider Nation and the NFL

Deaths are supposed to be greeted with nothing but kind words for the deceased, but I’m guessing that the death of Al Davis has prompted quiet relief in NFL corporate and ownership circles, and a shrug in most places outside of Oakland and Los Angeles.

Winless Colts may be in Luck

The prospect of Peyton Manning returning to the field this season — while tempting — is too risky for the future of the Colts franchise. Instead, the team should keep losing with the aim of drafting Andrew Luck as Manning’s heir.

NFL season so far proves offseason workouts, preseason are not as vital as most think

What happened to the sloppy, defense-dominated play everyone expected following the NFL lockout? What about all the rookies who would struggle to get into the flow in time to make an impact? So much for those predictions.

Overhyped Eagles and Cowboys are guilty of false starts

I refuse to believe that the “Dream Team” Philadelphia Eagles and “America’s Team” Dallas Cowboys are both 1-3 and tied for last place in the NFC East. With all their talent and all the hype, that’s simply not possible — is it?
