The Washington Post is partnering with Socialcam to share the stories of the Olympics. We invite you to join in the fun. Socialcam is an easy way to share videos right off your smartphone and better yet, make your videos look good (a la Instagram for photos). By posting short videos from London, you will get a chance to share your Olympic experience with not only your friends but also thousands of people right here on washingtonpost.com.
Here’s how to get started:
2. Give Socialcam a spin. Shoot some video of your dog or of a weekend barbeque. The more experience you have, the better your videos will be. Got questions? Check out our step-by-step guide.
3. Be sure to follow us first. We will be looking at all videos taken in the London area, but we don’t want to miss yours. So when shooting your videos, tag us as a “person” named Washington Post.
Please keep in mind that we’re not looking for videos of the Olympic competetions or for footage that was shot at Olympic venues, but rather for the impromptu celebrations and unscripted moments that take place in the streets and parks of London. Ideally, we’ll be featuring video clips of the torch bearers running past you or enlightening conversations with rabid fans and amateur experts.
