Obama’s 50th birthday fundraiser in Chicago: Tweets from the Aragon

(Carolyn Kaster - AP)
As President Obama gears up to ring in his 50th birthday with a fundraiser that features the likes of Jennifer Hudson and the band OK Go, White House reporter David Nakamura is already tweeting from the scene from the Aragon Entertainment Center in Chicago.

The fundraiser is set to begin at 8:15 p.m. tonight.

Obama’s 2012 team expects to raise millions of dollars less than it did this spring, but tonight’s festivities may end up being a welcome boost — entry prices ranged from $35,800 per couple for a sit-down dinner with Obama to standing room-only tickets for $50.

We’ve partnered with The Chicago Tribune and The Chicago Tribune’s RedEye to encourage those on the scene to tweet using #Obama50.
