Farmers Market Roundup: Oct. 18-24

There are certain foods I never expect to see at a Washington area farmers market: bananas, pineapple, limes (although once in a while, a producer will surprise me with a lemon). Until last year, I would have added ginger to that list. Thanks to Tim Carman’s story on baby ginger, I now know better. This week, you can find locally grown ginger at Saturday’s Columbia Heights Community Marketplace, Saturday’s 14th & U Farmers Market and Sunday’s Bloomingdale Farmers Market.
