Jinich to cook on Today show this morning

It won’t be the same as watching her on public TV, where the camera can linger on every glistening link of chorizo and sweaty globe of tomatillo, but Washington chef Pati Jinich’s appearance on the Today show this morning will no doubt raise her profile ever further.

I’m guessing that Matt Lauer will be charmed, like most of us are in Jinich’s presence.

Jinich alerted AWCE about her pending appearance on Today, saying that she’s scheduled to prepare three dishes: her Crazy Corn (which she describes as a “street food-style” recipe), her Avocado and Hearts of Palm Chop Chop Salad (you can cheat and read about it here) and her Corn Torte (which Jinich calls a “blessed combination between a souffle and a bread”).

All of the recipes, she adds, will be online at the Today Web site after her appearance. Give a watch at 9:45 a.m., when Jinich is scheduled to appear, and then come back and tell us what you think.
