Key Ingredient: Mom’s love

In this week’s section, regular Food section contributor David Hagedorn pays tribute to his mother, Carol Norberg, who died in August. Like many of us, Hagedorn’s memories of his mother are intertwined with food.

Here are a few more maternal-inspired dishes courtesy of Hagedorn and other cooks, from our Recipe Finder:

Arroz Veracruzano, a creamy side to complement Latin flavors.

Gingerbread Cookies, from baker and Reliable Source columnist Roxanne Roberts.

Unsmothered Pork Loin With Wild Mushrooms, Cipolline Onion and Spinach, a lighter version of one of Norberg’s recipes.

Sue’s Korean Shrimp Pancakes, an appetizer that works well as a light lunch too.

What dishes have been passed down from your mother to you?
