The Southern Foodways Symposium, Day 1

An non-profit executive who compares farmers markets to pirates and punk rockers. A poet who wonders if Mrs. Butterworth is really black. A chef who has pushed to revive the olive oil industry in the South. A Korean chef who prepares a bento box lunch with, among other dishes, a side of braised collards and kimchi.
