A moving farewell to a retiring principal

Principal Boddie watching farewell Principal Boddie watching farewell

Here’s a moving video showing the students and faculty at Hingham Middle School  in Massachusetts put on a surprise farewell for Principal Roger Boddie, who is retiring after 36 years.

According to WBZ CBS Boston, a helmeted Boddie was taken to the roof of a new building with a film crew, believing he was going to be part of a school video. Instead, he watched on the pavement below students and faculty, dressed in neon colors and waving signs saying, “Thank you for Believing in Us,” dance to the Journey classic song, “Don’t Sop Believin.”

Boddie was quoted as saying:

When people ask what I’m going to miss, I think I know what it is.
