The Art League Gallery , a nonprofit arts organization in Alexandria, will open their annual landscape exhibit “ ‘Scapes ” on Aug. 3. The show depicts different interpretations of scenery that have influenced the artist, and is the Gallery’s most popular. The submissions run the gamut from city to sea landscapes, and have been captured within all forms of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture.

The exhibition itself undergoes a quick turnaround: league members will submit their final products Aug. 1 and 2, upon which their works will be juried, and are then showcased on the third. There will be an award presentation and opening reception on Aug. 11, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
