Andreas Gursky’s ‘Rhein II:’ what a $4.2 million photograph looks like

Andreas Gursky’s photo of the Rhine River flanked by strips of emerald-green grass became the most expensive photo sold at auction last Tuesday when it was purchased for $4,338,500 at Christie’s.
