‘Elements of Style’ rap breaks its own rules

In a viral video from Columbia Journalism School, two students resurrect William Strunk and E.B. White, for a hip-hop lesson in their famous book, “The Elements of Style.” But the real Strunk and White are surely rolling in their graves to hear their instructions so mangled by their rap doppelgangers. Ahem, “Strunk” and “White?” It’s not “How to put the pen down right,” it’s ”How to put the pen down correctly.”

So style and grammar aren’t necessarily the primary concern when it comes to laying down beats, we get it. But you know what would be better? A song based on the Fake AP Stylebook.
