John Santos Workshop at the Smithsonian

Latin Jazz artist John Santos will conduct a free percussion workshop from 10:30 a.m. to noon, as well as an evening concert with the John Santos Band from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., with a 30 minute Q&A to follow at the Smithsonian on April 15. Santos, a four – time Grammy nominee, is also a member of the Latin Jazz Advisory Committee at the Smithsonian. Santos will perform demonstrations, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and try percussion instruments.

The master class and evening performance are being held with the Smithsonian’s observance of Jazz Appreciation Month. The workshop will be held at the National Museum of American History’s Carmichael Auditorium, and the concert will be held at the National Museum of Natural History’s Baird Auditorium.
