Barbara Cook, the extraordinary Broadway and cabaret singer who is a 2011 Kennedy Center Honoree, is getting another honor. And this one affects her fans’ pocketbooks.

In celebration of her Kennedy Center status, Feinstein’s at Loew’s Regency on Park Avenue is rolling back the cost of her upcoming show in late November and December to a $60 cover. And in New York City, that’s considered a bargain. The advertised prices for the show with Michael Feinstein at the piano are $71.86 to $278. 72.

Feinstein’s was opened in 1999 and is one of the swankiest places to have a close-up evening with the best singers. The deal from November 29 to December 30 sounds like an ideal holiday excursion and gift.

Here’s a sample of Cook and Feinstein doing “What’ll I Do.”

Cook will be honored at the Kennedy Center the first weekend of December, along with Yo-Yo Ma, Sonny Rollins, Neil Diamond and Meryl Streep.

In her long career Cook has received a Tony, as well as other recording and stage awards. Feinstein holds five grammy awards and Cook and Feinstein have frequently recorded and appeared together. They’ll be singing Sinatra, Berlin, Rogers & Hart, and all the other American songsmiths.
