Kennedy Center to livestream its Thursday 9/11 Concert

The special concert at the Kennedy Center to mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is an invitation-only event.

But the center announced Wednesday that the evening will be livestreamed via Facebook at 7:30 p.m. and will also be available at the center’s livestreaming connection at the same time.

The evening, “9/11: 10 Years Later--an Evening of Remembrance and Reflection” will feature Denyce Graves, Emmylou Harris and Wynton Marsalis. Recent additions to the line-up are the award-winning actress Melissa Leo, the award-winning actor Raul Esparza and the Washington-based Voices of Inspiration under the direction of Nolan Williams, Jr.

Other guests at the 7:30 p.m. event will read tributes, including former secretaries of State Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice and Madeleine Albright, as well as editor Leon Wieseltier. Christiane Amanpour will be host of the evening.
