Nicholas Goldsborough headed to Miami City Ballet

Nicholas T. Goldsborough, a former managing director of the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, has been named the new executive director at the Miami City Ballet.

The company was founded in 1985 by the acclaimed dancer Edward Villella, who is the group’s artistic director.

Goldsborough has a broad portfolio in arts management. He worked at Shakespeare from 2002 through 2007, overseeing the campaign and construction of the Harman Center for the Arts. In Los Angeles he managed the Walt Disney Concert Hall capital campaign as the executive vice president of the Music Center of Los Angeles County. He also directed fund-raising campaigns for Carnegie Hall and New York City’s Jewish Museum.
