Oklahoma! to return to Arena Stage this summer

The Arena Stage production of Rodger and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!,” a box-office smash during the theater’s 2010 – 2011 season, will return for a summer revival featuring all of the original principal cast members. This production was the first for Arena after their renovations took place in 2010. They include E. Faye Butler as Aunt Eller, Nicholas Rodriguez as Curly and Eleasha Gamble in a whirlwind performance as Laurey. Molly Smith, artistic director of Arena Stage, will again direct the show.

Arena Stage Managing Director Edgar Dobie is excited about bringing back the cast for the summer show. “Oklahoma!” was a home run for our audiences and Arena Stage as we re-opened our new Mead Center,” he says. “…we feel the smart move is to bring back ‘Oklahoma!’ for everyone to enjoy again -- or for the first time.”

The production runs July 8-Oct. 2, 2011, in the Fichandler Stage. Tickets can be purchased at arenastage.org
