It’s one thing to cast your Oscar bets early, but paying homage to your favorite nominee with an intricately designed collage takes things to a whole new level. After the Academy annouced its 2012 slate, we began our own selection process to find a guest style correspondent who could put a fresh spin on Hollywood’s ultimate awards show by building a Polyvore fashion set.
Oscars Remix: The Washington Post Polyvore Style Search kicked off with a challenge to create a montage of images based on your pick for best picture. We received 1,702 entries, featuring everything from Louboutins to Washington Post mastheads. “The Help”—with all its ’60s flair—proved the most popular movie inspiration, followed by “The Artist” and “Midnight in Paris.”
In the spirit of awards season, we’re rolling out the red carpet with our first four finalists from the best picture challenge. See their sets below and share your favorites with us in the comments.
P.S.: It’s not too late to join the fun. Enter our second challenge running now through Feb. 12 (updated) for your chance to be featured in the Style Blog.
