Every year at every fashion week, there’s a designer who makes the Ben Stiller movie “Zoolander” look like a documentary. This year, it’s the long-heralded return of Philip Treacy, the over-the-top milliner who presented his first runway show in 13 years at London Fashion Week.

Treacy’s collection was introduced by Lady Gaga, who wore a diaphonous pink veil. But the collection paid tribute, in part, to Michael Jackson, with a model walking the runway in the famous “Thriller” jacket, and a hat made of a bejeweled white glove, resting on a model’s head like Thing from the Adams Family. Other designs included saucer-like Mickey Mouse ears, science fiction-inspired crowns, a ferris wheel, and a giant smiley face.

Treacy isn’t the only one to send some strangely beautiful — and just plain strange — creations down the runway for fashion weeks in New York and London. Take a look at these:

Correction: A previous version of the caption for The Blonds incorrectly stated that it was part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and that the person in the photo above is a model. It was part of MADE fashion week at Milk Studios in New York, and the above photo is of designer Phillipe Blond.
