Yesterday’s Web site blackout — otherwise known as “The Day the LOLcats Died” — did a great deal of awareness-raising against the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act, also known as SOPA and PIPA. But for those who weren’t aware of the legislation, confusion reigned.
Some of it was sarcastic — did anyone really think that people were being encouraged to call their representative to protest Pippa Middleton? — but some of it, like The Great Wikipedia Homework Scramble, was very real. Here’s a look at the five biggest questions from Wednesday:
