When Usain Bolt won gold and broke the world record in the 200 meter in Beijing, he called what would become his signature stance ‘To the World.’ Following a repeat victory in the 200 on Thursday, the world (or the Twitterverse, at least) responded by striking the
‘lightning’ pose in his honor.
Wenlock, the London Olympics mascot, posed along with Bolt after his first place finish. British Police officers near Olympic Stadium and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team dutifully angled their arms and gazed skyward.Countless tourists have done their best to imitate the likeness of the fastest running in the world next to his wax replica at Madame Tussauds in London. And somewhere, Prince Harry may be leaning with his left arm extended, as he did when he met the Jamaican sprinter in March.
Here’s a look at some of the best Twitpics and Instagram photos capturing the ‘lightning.’
