For our fourth edition of our “Will it work in Washington?” take on New York Fashion week, we look to the fall 2012 collection of Prabal Gurung.

NO: Prabal Gurung’s past collections have included sharply tailored trousers that are Washington-ready and still offer punch. But you have to wonder what who he had in mind when designing this gold-embroidered gown with see-through skirt and boa-trimmed hem, accented by Amazon gold cuffs. A Saudi princess perhaps, a Vegas showgirl? Even a Potomac princess with a flawless body and high opinion of herself would balk. The Corcoran Ball? No way.
Would it work in Washington? Our bet: NO. Cast your vote in the poll below.
TIP: Forget about it; there’s no way to save this number.
