Don Graham, chairman of The Washington Post Co., responded recently to a Quora question about The Post’s Social Reader. Quora allows users to pose questions to other users and tag their inquiries with topics related to interest areas.
Q:
Washington Post: How has the Washington Post's launch of their Social Reader on Facebook changed their readership? Is a substantial number of people reading more articles? If so, what demographic do they represent? What articles are they reading, etc?
A:
More than 21 million people have now downloaded Washington Post Social Reader. More than three quarters of them are under 35, so it represents a substantial change in our demographics. Readers are about 50-50 US/international and about 60% women.
