MLB opening day 2011: late games

Opening day is finally here, with six games for fans to savor. Earlier today the Nationals took on the Braves, the Tigers faced the Yankees (Verlander vs. Sabathia), and the Brewers played the Reds (Gallardo vs. Volquez).

At 4:10 the Los Angeles Angels visit the Kansas City Royals (Weaver vs. Hochevar). At 4:15, the Cardinals host the Padres (Carpenter vs. Stauffer), which Dave Sheinin will cover. And at 8 p.m. the Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants (Kershaw vs. Lincecum).

TV: Padres-Cardinals and Giants-Dodgers will be on ESPN.
